What is Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy?
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) has been successfully used in medicine for many years,
focusing on areas such as wound healing, tissue repair and in orthopedics, dentistry,
neurosurgery, and ophthalmology.
- Defined as an autologous concentrated preparation of platelets, PRP therapy is a great
procedure for your aesthetic clinic either as a standalone treatment or to complement
other procedures such as dermal fillers and derma roller. This system uses your body’s own growth factors in order for the skin to repair and
rejuvenate itself.
- The platelets in the blood are concentrated in clear plasma. Once this plasma is injected
into the skin, a large number of growth factors are released to stimulate soft tissue regeneration.
What is the platelet?
- Platelets, or thrombocytes, are small, colorless cell fragments in our blood that form clots and
stop or prevent bleeding. Platelets are made in our bone marrow, the sponge-like tissue inside
our bones.
What are cytokines?
- Cytokines/immune cytokines were initially used to separate the immunomodulatory proteins,
also called immunotransmitters, from other growth factors that modulate proliferation and
bioactivities of non-immune cells. Some cytokines are produced by a rather limited number
of different cell types while others are produced by almost the entire spectrum of known cell
types.
Phlebotomy & Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Courses at Gulf Coast Academy
Aesthetics With PRP
This comprehensive hands-on-training workshop explores the multiple cosmetic applications
of Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP).
How does it work?
A small sample of your own blood is processed in a highly specialized, state of the art
system to facilitate the safe and rapid preparation of autologous platelet-rich plasma
(PRP) designed to extract the PRP in a safe, clinical manner. PRP is then injected into
the areas that require tissue remodeling and rejuvenation. PRP is your own unique blood
and so you are using your own natural resources to repair and improve your skin tissue.
- As your skin is healing, the growth factors, in a higher concentration than would normally
be found induces new and extra collagen, new cells, and increased normal vascularity of
the skin. This has a profound effect on the appearance of the skin, much tighter, and
brighter and immediately fewer wrinkles.
PRP For Hair Loss
Now there is an affordable way for you to improve your hair density without surgery or other
harmful side effects. Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) for hair restoration involves a simple
injection of your own platelet-rich plasma into your scalp to help regrow hair.
Increases blood supply to the follicle
Increases hair shaft size (thickness)
Triggers and maintains the hair growth phase
Decreases hair loss
How Does It Work?
Platelets contain healing growth factors. These growth factors when released are like
signal callers that give instructions to your tissues to regenerate and multiply.
The benefits of your body’s own growth factors have lead different fields of medicine to
utilize PRP for wound healing to speed up recovery time and regrow healthier, stronger
tissues.
Now, dermatologists have discovered new benefits for hair thickening and regrowth for
hair with PRP.
- Your own growth factors and stem cells will work together to reverse the miniaturization
of the hair follicle and jump-start dormant hair follicles back into the growth stage.
Phlebotomy
The word phlebotomy means the drawing of blood by venipuncture for transfusion, diagnostic
testing, or experimental procedures.
- We start you with the artificial training arms so that you can gain basic knowledge and comfort of
properly working with the blood draw equipment and the blood draw procedure. This Phlebotomy course offers hands-on experiences in the classroom while being supervised
by the instructor.
We help you gain expertise in phlebotomy procedures (blood drawing), and specimen collection
and processing.
Once you have completed the class you will receive a certification of completion.
How will you benefit from Platelet Rich Plasma Training?
- This treatment is an excellent add-on to your aesthetic clinic. It is becoming an increasingly
popular treatment to improve the texture of the skin, create a better skin tone, firm the skin,
reduce fine lines and wrinkles, and to volumize beneath the skin. This treatment is cost-effective as it incurs very little outlays, making it a very lucrative procedure
for your aesthetic business
It can be used to treat the delicate areas above and below the eyes which are usually difficult to
treat with treatments such as Botox and dermal fillers
As this is an autologous system, patients who are opposed to using artificial products will be
happier to try this treatment as it is completely natural and safe.
There is very little downtime for your patients – increasing its popularity.
Long-lasting results.
